Gold Coast City Council Expo

HBA Learning Centres was privileged to take part in the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Expo held at the Gold Coast Events Centre in Bundall and organised by the Gold Coast City Council, a long term client of HBA’s. It was a great experience with all exhibitors and participants enjoying taking part in this important Expo on the Gold Coast calendar; it had to be cancelled the previous year due to COVID19.

The Expo was a huge success with a great turnout with invited companies displaying the latest in safety wear, safety training, wellbeing programs, plant and safety systems and so much more.

HBA Learning Centres provided information on its BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety to those who were interested in entering the safety arena or those who were wanting to formalise their skills by completing a highly valued nationally recognised qualification. We also enjoyed answering many questions regarding the upgrade of courses on our scope such as TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and the associated Skills Gap training requirement.

So many attendees were past and present learners of HBA who came, said hello and told us their stories of how the training had assisted their careers and confidence in the Safety arena.  It’s always great to catch up with the HBA family of learners.

There were exhibitions & demonstrations put on by Gold Coast City Council staff showing off the latest innovation in plant across their divisions; interestingly these are all fit for purpose due to the extensive consultation with GCCC front-line workers in the design phase.

All the exhibitors had experts on-site providing free advice and answering questions related to their products. There were loads of product giveaways and competitions to enter.

HBA held a competition to win a fitbit charge 4 with advanced fitness tracker +GPS that was well supported. The winner was drawn on-site at 2pm and the lucky person is a local Gold Coast resident, Tammy Johnson. Tammy was surprised and very happy when she received the call announcing her as the fitbit competition winner.

Overall this was an excellent opportunity for those GCCC employees working in medium or high-risk environments to view the latest in all categories of safety. The event was well positioned with plenty of access for exhibitors and parking for attendees.

Thank you, Gold Coast City Council, for holding such an important event, see you again next year.
