09 Sep The jigsaw called TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
When we facilitate this qualification we are often asked if there is a flow chart, a map if you like of how the qualification goes together and our stock answer has been, “it is too complex to create a flow chart”.
We thought it might be helpful if we gave a sort of general overview, maybe it will help some interested people understand the qualification just a little bit better:
The Australian Government with assistance from a group of external 3rd party entities, endorses qualifications and authorises organisations to deliver them, these organisations are called Registered Training Organisations.
The Government determines what you need to know and what you should be able to do to be issued with a qualification. The RTO has to be able to interpret what the Units of Competency are actually saying in plain English and it then creates all the resources, processes, procedures and activities required for someone to be issued with the qualification. The interpretation coupled to strong subject matter knowledge determines how the RTO will facilitate and assess the criteria. This is submitted to the Government which audits and can approve the approach. The RTO then offers its product to the market.
The Learning Fields are Design (including LLN), Delivery and Assessment
TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment teaches you how to do all of the above and whilst it is technical and complex in nature it is something we have got very good at over the 16 years we have been an RTO.
